In the 1980's, David Yurman reached an untapped market in fine jewelry design; making luxurious pieces that people could wear everyday at an affordable price. Like his craftsman father, David Yurman began his life in the arts as a sculptor. While working for the same artist, he met his wife Sybil, who inspired him to continue his jewelry designs, after making a metal belt for her.

When starting off in the jewelry industry, he worked briefly for Cartier and later pursued Tiffany, who turned down his application. Yurman now says that was one of the best things that could have happened to him.

His signature sterling silver cable design grew extremely popular upon it's debut in 1982. David Yurman had the talent of making designer pieces that could be worn both day and night. A perfect mix of precious and semi-precious stones with sterling silver or yellow gold.

Today, all David Yurman pieces are made with his signature twisted cable design. He also creates one-of-a-kind couture and limited edition pieces which characterize his style and artistry. David Yurman pieces range in price from $250 to $3,000, depending on the precious stones and metal used.

The face of David Yurman is currently Naomi Watts. Her predecessors were Amber Valletta, Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell.

Yurman, his wife Sybil, and son Evan are the private holders of a one-of-a-kind global luxury brand with 14 boutiques in the United States. After 27 years, David Yurman continues to prosper in the world of jewelry design and grow in popularity with his spectacular collections.
